ServiceNow Knowledge Blocks Being Displayed In Portal Article Description Fields

We use knowledge blocks to add headers to the top of our knowledge articles that display the company logo. Our customized portal page reads the text of the knowledge block then displays it on the knowledge article short description field / body_summary ng-binding. Is there an easy way to fix this to prevent blocks from showing up in the body summary without causing an issue with blocks being displayed on the top of knowledge articles?
