ServiceNow Unable to Process the Request Body with a Content-Type 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded' while using Scripted REST Web Service

Hello All,

Scenario:

We trying to connect with a third party application where they can consume our API and send us the request to be processed and update the incident record.

Issue:

The Content-Type of the request body is 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded' and ServiceNow is unable to process the request.

• Based on the link, we can override the 'Content-Type' to application/x-www-form-urlencoded
• But, we aren't able to receive the body using 'datastream'. We have used this same script by referring the link
• When we print the body, it shows 'com.glide.communications.GlideScriptableInputStream' in the logs

Kindly let me know if anyone has worked on processing the request body with the Content-Type as 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded'.

Yeah that's the unfuriating part. Each incoming request type looks different. I am pretty much at a brick wall with slash commands.

I edited my answer above with an approach that works for my Slack slash command. I also got signatures working (without hard coding the params..) by creating a Processor, where g_request.getParameterNames() can be used, and retrieves them in the correct order. A processor means you create a completely different endpoint and give that to Slack. But my code for that is a mess. I had to build it in global, because not only are the available function different, but also half of them don't work in scope. However to be honest I made so many attempts and changes that I haven't been back to test if the stuff I ended up using works in scope. My working Processor code is a mixture of scoped and global function calls. I can't clean that up right now, but I'll post the parameter parsing code below.

This code worked from within a global, public Processor.

Amazing! This solution works. I was even able to get it worked in scope by casting the urlParamList to a simple array (it appears the hasMoreElements() method is only available in global scope). Well done, although it would have been nice to get this to work in scripted REST.
