Short Description is showing as display field instead of Number in rm_story reference field

Hi,

I have created a table and i created a reference field referencing rm_story table. When i select a value it is showing the short description instead of Number as in the screen shot. But if i create a reference column referencing incident table this issue does not happen,

I have check display value field it is only "Number"

I have checked the ACL's and the user has required ACL's.

Short Description is not display value field. Not sure what i am missing, please help

Is there a dictionary override on short description and number, which is setting it as display value for rm_story
