Hi, does anyone know what the 'sys_destination_preference' table is used for?

I would appreciate it if anyone could share some documentation or any resources on it.

Hi Nikhil,

The sys_destination_preference Table stores user preferences for destination fields. Destination fields are used to control where data is routed when it is created or updated.

Shivam.

HI @Nikhil Kumsett1 ,
I trust you are doing great.

The sys_destination_preference table in ServiceNow is designed to store user preferences for destination fields. These destination fields play a crucial role in determining where data is directed when it's either created or updated within the ServiceNow platform.

In a typical use case, when a user interacts with a form or a record and makes changes, ServiceNow needs to know where to redirect the user after the action is completed. The destination fields help in defining these redirection paths, and the sys_destination_preference table stores the user-specific preferences for these redirections.

For developers working with this table, it's essential to understand the user's preferences to ensure a seamless user experience. By referencing this table, developers can customize workflows, UI actions, or scripts to redirect users based on their stored preferences.

Hi there,

This table was added from Paris to Quebec. What's it's for... I actually have no clue. Looking at 3 customers of mine... the table is also empty 🙂

Since you are a ServiceNow employee, you might be able to look internally for a bit more documentation?

Kind regards,
