Are you trying to create a Knowledge article by importing an excel? If yes, it would not be possible to copy the content as you can only import Word documents into a Knowledge Base.
However, if you are simply trying to copy some content from an excel file and then paste it into the "Text" field of a Knowledge article, you should be able to do it right away.
E.g., I copied the following cells from an excel file
and pasted it directly into the "Text" field of a Knowledge article.
Is this colleague of yours, who is facing this issue, the only one facing it or there are other users as well who are not able to do the same?
If at least one other user is able to perform the above operation, it might just simply be a one time issue particular to her machine.
