Update custom field on a record that is read-only by protection policy

I have created a custom field on sys_user_role to be used for reporting/audit. We have 6 records in our instance that show this message:

I understand the purpose of the record being read-only, but I would like to know if there is any way to bypass this so that I can update the custom field?

Hi @chadlockwood ,

We are unable to bypass the protection policy, and it's also not recommended to update any important records which can cause problems in future upgrades.
