User with other language is not able to find an item

Hi All,

 

I have an issue with diplaying catalog item in sp.

When I was creating an item I switched to german and I've translated the name to german.

But when I impersonate user with this language, then I am not able to find this item..

Do you know what can be a reason of this behaviour?

Hi Kasia, what happens when you add the catalog item sysID in the URL? Does it open? I.e. can the user open the catalog item but cannot find it or not able to access it at all? 

Don't you have set some user criteria, e.g. only for English speaking users?

Hi Kasia

If system language is english and you have build the item in german you've basically built an item that thinks it english but the content is german.

 

Go to sc_cat item record and hit the edit translations ui action and check both english and german I suspect that your english or system variant will be in german.
