Using Alternate email in User Profile

Hello
All of our users have a secondary email address that is used in the event that they cannot be reached via a primary email.
However, I notice that when you set up the notifications, when you toss in a user, it automatically uses the OOB email address.
Any way we can set it up to use the secondary email address?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but your approach assumes that we can set up a field on the incident form (where the notification would be kicked off) to accept some sort of secondary email address and refer the notification to use that. This is assuming that the field itself is a reference to a user.
Due to the design of the requirement, the email needs to be put in as part of the user record itself. I think that's the problem here.
Alikutty's solution does make sense, it requires a lot of work though. But thanks for your input.

Field type is email ..and create it on sys_user table ...
