Visual Task Boards - Guided issues

So I started working with VTB and noticed that when you are using a Guided board it will change the values on records and ignore any rules. For instance on Incident if you do a guided board on state, it will allow you to change the state to whatever you like without requiring the required fields to be filled out.

Anyone else seen this or is it just me?

This is a BIG problem as I cannot find a way to limit users ability to use the guided task boards.

Thoguhts?

Thanks all. I upgrade an instance to Eureka Patch 7 and have validated that this issue has been resolved. It now brings the record up in the original values before you tried to make the change with a warning, so you can fill out the form with the fields that would be required.

You are correct Ryan, this is a problem.

There is an ongoing discussion of this issue at the link that follows:

Visual task board does not support mandatory fields

It appears that you can disable the UI Actions for   "Add to Visual Task Board" and "Show Visual Taskboard".

There was a webinar today by AAA Allied Group on Visual Task Board. I asked similar question on guided task board. According to Rob Pickering (one of the panelist), it didn't initially adhere to UI Policies but it should be resolved with Eureka Patch 5 onward. I haven't had a chance to test it yet.

Syaharruddin, can you describe how you are using the guided visual task boards?

Were testing Eureka Patch 7 and evaluating Visual Task Boards in the process.

I really like VTB, and I see nothing wrong with the free form and flexible task boards.

But the guided task boards appear to be fraught with problems.   As a result I'm considering of delaying the activation of VTB until I can get the issues resolved, or can come up with a way to activate just the free form and flexible task boards.

In any case, I'd love to hear how you're using them and learn how you cope.
