Walk-up Experience User Search on Check Screen - VERY SLOW

We have implemented the Walk-Up Experience. During development and testing, no issues were reported at all but as soon as the implementation was release to Production we have noticed that the user query on the Check-in screen can take anywhere up to 30 seconds to return results.

There have been no reported issues of poor performance anywhere else in the instance at all and certainly not with queries to the user table. In fact, once we get the interaction back to the Agent Workspace, searching for a user is as close to instantaneous as possible.

Has anyone else come across this problem? Does any one have any suggestions as to what might be causing this and how to fix it?

Note that all pages and widgets are "out of the box". We have simply configured Walk-up. No customisations.

Can you let me know if we have  a solution for this already in place as we are facing a similar issue for our Client.
