What is exactly a node? how it relates to performance issues?

Hi everyone,
What is a node is ServiceNow? How is it related to response time issues in ServiceNow? And how to fix it?
I am not being able to find a proper answer anywhere. I would appreciate some help 🙂

Hi Jassu,
ServiceNow Instances are made up of 1+ application nodes (nodes) and a database server. The "nodes" are Tomcat Web Servers and they handle the traffic to the instance. When a user logs in they are directed to an available "node" which will process and run their requests.
You can see the performance of your "nodes" by examining the Node Performance Metrics. Here is a good link which talks about that:
