What is not captured in Update Sets?

Could someone help me in understanding what isn't captured in an Update Set.

I made changes to the Hardware Asset Management form in QA but I forgot to capture the changes in an update set. What do i do now?  How do i capture the changes I made and promote to PROD?

If you are talking about form layout changes? then Yes, If you have changed form layout then it will capture in update set. 

If you have made changes in form layout and forgot to capture it, then you should go to the customer updates in Global update set (where it will be captured) and change its update set name to your desired update set.

Another way is to undo your changes, select desired update set and then again apply your form layout changes.

Are newly created groups captured in update sets or not ?

Because:  I Created update set and made it current update set.. while it was in work in progress, I created the new groups. After that I changed  the update set statue to complete, but the created groups not captured in update set.

Groups are data so it will not get captured in Update set.
