what version of java is Required to run Service Now on a Desktop?

I am interested in buying service now but I need to know the minimum version of Java needed to run on a Desktop. Does anyone know?

I don't have "Java" installed on my computer at all and ServiceNow runs just fine. I don't believe ServiceNow requires the Java runtime.

ServiceNow does not require Java on the desktop. While the underlying server platform is running Java, you don't need to be concerned about that for your desktop browser. Everything comes to you as modern HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, etc.

Hi Chuck
We recently implemented CMDB and Discovery into ServiceNow. The midservers are used by discovery and other integration processes. Our The server teams will support the actual servers, but there are software components, such as Java. does ServiceNow upgrade Java or the mid server software do I need to do anything as an admin or does my company need to do anything to the servers
