Workflow timer is not taking the updated date/time value.

We have a scheduled date field on FSM application and there is a timer on workflow means when scheduled date ends the timer completed, We are facing issue when we update the scheduled date then timer is not waiting, It takes the original date not updated date
There is a servicenow KB url which says that this is the expected behavior, But we want some workaround that it should take the updated date
Can someone help how we can get this
