Workspace - Relate Lists - How do you add the 'edit list' button?

In the CSM/FSM Configurable Workspace - we have a requirement to add a related list for Cases to the Requested Item record. The User should be able to associate (via the edit button) other cases: 

Steps> 
1. Open the CSM/FSM Workspace
2. Under lists open a RITM -  Requests > Open Items 
3. On that record note the related list that has been added for Cases

4.  As in other records, when you have a list you can often click 'edit' and edit the list. 

I have only found this: https://www.servicenow.com/community/itsm-articles/how-to-enable-related-list-editing-at-agent-works...  directions to create an 'edit record' button, but it does not edit the list itself. 



Is it even possible to create a button to allow the related LIST to be updated?

I have the requirement of the same kind. Could you please mention how you were able to solve this. I am also new to UI builder.
