DPR - versions for product components?

Hi All,
I'm trying to map a requirement to OOTB capabilities of DPR, where there is a Product, let's say "Sales Tool", and the team currently doing the releases for this product are maintaining the versions for every component of the product independently (e.g. authentication, rule engine, front end, messaging etc.).
Currently it seems that the possibility to define versions in DPR is just at the overall Product level? While I could theoretically create multiple products per component and create bundled releases etc., I'm not sure a product is the best place to store those components (considering that typically, product should be 1:1 with business app).
The current object storing versions (Software component model) makes perfect sense to use for those product components, I just don't see how this could be captured today OOTB as part of defining a new Release in DPR.
Maybe there's someone who tackled similar requirements - can you share your solution?
Also SN folks, if anyone sees this, perhaps you can comment if there is a feature that already can cover this or anything planned for this year's roadmap?
Many thanks!

Hi @Tom Sienkiewicz ,
On the Products page, you’ll find the Included Products tab. This allows you to create multiple products (sub-products) under a parent product.
When creating a multi-product release, you can select the parent product, and all included products will be automatically selected. You can then define versions for each product as needed.

Hi, thanks for your feedback.
Yes I'm familiar with the included products feature. The thing is that you can only add products which are "application model" as included products, at least in my instance.
Do you think creating "application components" such as front end, database or microservices as "Application models" is an OK approach? Or will there be a possibility in the future to use more product models within DPR?
BR,
Tom

Hi @Tom Sienkiewicz ,
Currently we are allowing application model and service type products only in DPR.
For more details follow this: https://www.servicenow.com/docs/r/it-service-management/digital-product-release/dpr-request-product....
