ServiceNow Enterprise Asset Management on the Now Platform Xanadu release
ServiceNow® Enterprise Asset Management empowers organizations to oversee the complete lifecycle of their physical business assets, aligning with financial and operational objectives. Enterprise Asset Management maximizes asset life and use with planned maintenance schedules. It also enables users to optimize asset inventory levels for improved balance sheet performance, minimizing stockouts and excess items.
In the Now Platform® Xanadu release, the four most notable features for ServiceNow Enterprise Asset Management are:
- Asset calibration
- Configurable workspaces
- Inventory picking with indoor maps
- Inventory repair
Asset calibration
Assets must be calibrated on a routine basis to ensure optimal performance, uptime, and compliance with regulatory requirements. If the assets are not calibrated on time or without properly adhering to specifications, this will result in unplanned asset downtime. Asset calibration enables users to manage asset calibrations and reporting to maintain optimal asset performance and uptime. Calibration scheduling and tracking can be automated which reduces the risk of missed calibrations that can occur from manual error. Asset calibration also offers guided experience with mobile compatibility so users can easily perform and document these calibration events.
Configurable workspaces
It can be overwhelming and time-consuming to manually sort through data when it’s not separated by type. Customers with multiple departments responsible for asset classes in different functional areas need to have workspaces with clear data separation. Configurable workspaces enable users to manage specific asset classes such as industrial, medical and facility with tailored workspaces for each department. Providing users with specific workspaces ensuring that they only see relevant data and improves overall productivity.
Inventory picking with indoor maps
Asset managers need an interactive task to pick assets within a stockroom from inventory. It’s also essential to have mobile UI functionality when picking assets to make locating, retrieving, and scanning assets more efficient and accurate. With inventory picking with indoor maps, asset managers can utilize an interactive pick task feature to retrieve stock from inventory for fulfillment. Users can use their mobile device to leverage floor maps for directions to assets then scan selected assets. This capability would help asset managers and inventory and warehouse personnel complete tasks on the go with greater accuracy and efficiency.
Inventory repair
When organizations evaluate assets, they need a scalable repair process to get defective assets with useful lives back into service. Inventory repair is a low code prescriptive workflow that helps streamline asset repairs for optimal performance. Users can select defective assets to trigger the repair process to return assets into service. Through testing and quality control, asset managers can verify if assets are operable and ready to be deployed or if the assets should be disposed instead. Ensuring proactive and effective repairs can help prevent the need for more extensive and costly maintenance in the future or defective assets from being forgotten or unnecessarily disposed.
Enterprise Asset Management is a comprehensive solution that enables organizations to effectively manage their physical business assets throughout their lifecycle. With these new features, organizations can manage their asset calibrations, utilize tailored workspaces, pick assets from stockrooms, and repair defective assets efficiently.
