We are working on cleaning up our Company table and noticed that we have ServiceNow Discovery creating Companies with additional characters like Microsoft? or MicrosoftP and they are being created in the core_company table.
I've searched but have been unable to locate any ServiceNow documentation regarding how to handle these creations. Especially when it comes to mapping the CIs to the Assets.
Let me know if anyone has had experience on this and what was done to resolve the issue.

Hi @tamco ,
You can test the case on Dev instance, delete all usch record first then check after next discovery job and if again those record created, check which CI record is coming with these values, might be some source has the company names like that.
-Thanks,

Hi @tamco ,
Have you looked into normalization of data instead of cleaning up. When discovery is running, more companies will be created constantly with different names even though it is the same.
If my answer has helped with your question, please mark my answer as the accepted solution and give a thumbs up.
Best regards

Yes, we have data normalization turned on but I have previous data that still shows with this information even after running the Data normalization. I also found this https://support.servicenow.com/kb?id=kb_article_view&sys_kb_id=31a9d002dbdcf050a4c10b55ca961934
