AI Search typo handling issue when suggested alternative does not have any search results

When someone searches for something on our Employee Center portal and uses a search term which seems to contain a spelling error the AI Search Typo handling mechanism suggests an alternative search term.

This seems to be working fine unless the suggested alternative search term does not have any search results.
In that case the option "Search instead for ..." to switch back to searching for the original search term is not available AND the portal visitor is unaware why the system has changed the search term he/she entered has been changed to another search term.

Complicated story so I added two screenshots: The first screenshot shows a search with correct typo handling behaviour and the second screenshot shows the weird typo handling where the option to revert back to the original search term is not available.

I found the option to remove the incorrect proposed alternative search terms individually but that does not solve the real issue which is that the option to search for the original search term instead.

This confuses the portal visitor as he/she does not understand why the chosen search term has been changed.

Does anyone know how we can "fix" this issue?
