Are there OOB filter facets for Employee center portal?

I enabled AI search, but no OOB facets are available for the Employee center portal search

Okay got it! We are using those widgets on the knowledge page. However, I think with the initial search now being used by the AI Search Assistance, it takes the addition faceted portion away. Because I believe one of the main purposes of the AI Search is to help the user now have to comb through categories, etc. The AI will grow and learn what the user is looking for and provide the best results based on their search.

That is my take on it - reason being is, once I enabled the AI Search and configured my search widgets to use it, there are no more additional faceted boxes within the Faceted Search which is OOTB.

Here is what it looks like without the AI Search being enabled and used both from Page Designer and Portal Facing:

find_real_file.png

find_real_file.png

And that is without any modification - just OOTB.

Now with AI enabled and being used for my portal (I did not modify this widget):

find_real_file.png

find_real_file.png

Now, this is just my thought process here. The screen shots showing the additional faceted boxes for filters is from my personal dev instance with AI disabled. And that was how our company page looked as well (OOTB) with that widget. Now that we are upgrading to the employee center pro and I have enabled AI Search and pointed my searching to it, those additional filters went away. I did not personally do it (since we cannot do it anyway as the Faceted Search widget is Read-Only policy).

I am actually in the process of now testing this theory with my personal dev - just waiting for the AI status to become enabled.

But for knowledge page, all those additional filters should be there for you.

Hope this shed more light on this topic. Let me know if this helps, and, if your knowledge page is all set with the filters. That should still be normal.

Hey TP,

My first question I need to ask as I experience this myself: When you enabled the AI Search, have you checked back on the status to make sure it has been fully enabled? Silly question I know... But I was silly myself when I first enabled (requested) it and didn't realize it took a little while to actually become enabled.

Onto your actual question:

When you say facets, are you referring to the widgets that can be used after a search to filter through results? OR, are you referring to actual search widgets to use?

Thanks,

-Rob

Hi Rob,

I checked the status and it is "AI search is activated and ready for use", so it should be fine...

For your other question - I refer to the widgets used after the search to filter through results. I do have the tabs at the top to navigate the results by source (People, Catalog, Knowledge), but I do not have any filters by facet (Knowledge bases, Catalogs, Catalog categories, etc.). Shouldn't I have some filters available OOB or do I have to create them all myself?

Thanks,

Teddy

Hi, I faced the same issue of this post. Did you successfully make the search result page show the facet filter?
