Catalog item not visible on search results on our custom employee center portal

Hi,

Suppose I have catalogs other than the ones we get in our instances like "SERVICE CATALOG", "RESOURCES", and "TECHNICAL CATALOG".  Along with those catalogs I have my catalog items. The issue is when I search for those catalog items, they are not reflected in the search results on our custom employee center portal. Can anyone help me with that?

 

For eg:

I have a catalog named "ABC" and a catalog item named "DEF".  When I search for "DEF" on my custom employee center portal, it does not appear in the search results.

Hello @khyati_thadani ,

 

All catalog records that are mentioned in the portal record are available in the search result.

 

Go to Portals. Open your custom portal record, and then in the catalogs tab, check whether or not other catalogs other than "Service Catalog,", "Resources,", and "Technical Catalog" are selected, and if not, click on edit and select those catalogs and save it (for this, your application scope should be Employee Center Core). SS:

I tried adding my custom catalogs as you have shown in the screenshot under my custom Employee Center Portal page, then also those catalogs/catalog items don't appear upon search. So what can be the other alternative? Adding to this, the same catalog item when searched in the Service Portal appears whereas when searched in Employee Center Portal it doesn't.

 

Suppose I have a catalog item "Report Email Issue" under "Email" catalog which is a custom catalog. Now when I add "Email" under that list as shown in your screenshot and search for "Report Email Issue" in my Employee Portal, the catalog item doesn't appear and if I add that same catalog item under "Email" &  "Service Catalog" catalog then the item starts appearing upon search.

Hello @khyati_thadani

It is because of two reason maybe:

1. AI search is enabled in your instance?

2. And AI search checkbox is marked check in the ESC portal. (btw it is by default enabled). SS:

If AI search is already enabled then and still it is not working then: 

It could be worthwhile to see if you've linked any Catalog Categories to specific topic.

Suppose that the catalog item "Report Email Issue" belongs to "Email" Catalogs and "Network" Category. If the item doesn't appear like I mentioned in my above reply then how should I resolve that?
