Connected Content - inactive Catalog items

Hi,

 

We are populating our Topics by adding content from a Service Catalog Category. We are noticing that we have inactive Catalog Items in the Connected Content table because these inactive catalog items were associated with the category that we associated with the Topic. Is there an issue with having inactive catalog items as connected content with our topic? The inactive catalog item isn't searchable on the Employee Center but I was wondering if it is good practice to have inactive catalog items as connected content. Or is it best to first clean out our Service Catalog categories by removing all inactive catalog items from that category before associating that category with a topic?

I wouldn't go to the effort to remove categories from inactive catalog items, as the connected content is just a record to show that the catalog item has been associated with the topic. You would think if it was bad practise to keep inactive records, ServiceNow would have had a active flag when looking for new content.
