Content Item(links) are not searchable through Meta Tags in prod instance

Hi,

We have External Content - Content Item(links) with meta tags defined for them, but when we do global search with these meta tags terms in the employee center we do not get any search result in the production instance. 

When we search using meta tags in dev or test instance, we are able to see the link as search result. It works fine there.

What could be the reason that meta tags are not showing result for content items in prod instance? PLEASE HELP!

In Dev instance it gives the search result as shown below

But in production instance - No match

Try adding meta as a field mapping under your Index Sources for Catalog Items.

Then Re-index.

I am having the same issue and I tried

adding meta as a field mapping under your Index Sources for Catalog Items and then re-indexing the sc_catalog table but my meta tags are still not working in Employee Center.  Any other suggestions?
