Employee Center Mega Menu, Taxonomy, Curated Experiences not working

Hi everyone, hoping someone can help me...

We are about to implement Employee Center at my organization and I wanted to experiment with it a bit in my PDI. Initially, I installed the pro plugin and played around with the mega menu and topic pages (which worked).  Then I found out we will likely only get the core employee center, so I requested a new pdi and only installed the core plugins on it. However, in my new instance with only the core Employee Center, I found the mega menu does not work (meaning curated experiences and topic pages do not work either).  I downloaded the Employee Taxonomy from the store as well as created my own taxonomy with child topics and connected content.  No matter what I do, nothing gets added to my menu - even the MyOrg menu item is missing now! Please advise.

Hi there,

The new My Org Chart missing for Employee Center (not pro) = correct.

On the profile page also you'll still see a My Org Chart button, though the page it's directing to, the widget for that page, etc.: are all not installed with Employee Center. In my opinion a small bug 🙂 Why are these not installed? Because they are part of plugins which get installed with... Employee Center Pro.

For a customer I applied CSS to hide the My Org Chart button on the Profile (again because it doesn't work).

If my answer helped you in any way, please then mark it as helpful.

Kind regards,
Mark

Hi Mark -

Thanks for the info about MyOrg, although my bigger concern is that the rest of the taxonomy is not working.  I cannot get topics to render properly or at all in the mega menu.  I am experiencing this in Pro and standard.  Any ideas what I may be doing wrong?  I associated my taxonomy to the ec portal, made sure it was active, added 3 levels of topics and associated content at the 3rd level.  None of them appear.  If I associate content directly to the top level, the top level category appears, but none of the child topics and the same is true for the page that renders (and the banner also does not work). What am I missing? Even the OOB "Employee" taxonomy did not work, only the "IT" topic and the "IT for IT" topics work (none of the other child topics in IT work even!).  Thoughts?

Warmest,

Katie

Hello Katie,

Can you try the below steps

1. Open Employee Center portal record and check if the following record under Taxonomy related list  is inactive.

2. If list is inactive, Run the “Employee Center Easy Install fix script, by setting the runManually flag to true as shown below.
