Employee Center : OOTB Parent and child Topics missing in IT Taxonomy under Mega menu in PDI

Hi All,

I have installed Employee center plugins in my PDI with demo data and ran the fix scripts as per documentation steps. I have ITSM and PPM plugins installed in my PDI.

1. I do not see all the OOTB parent/child topics that comes under Mega menu with Employee Center (I am not asking about Employee Center Pro)

i.e Hardware/Software/Network/Privacy and Security

2. I do not see Recommended for you widget

I was expecting to get the following menu with the IT taxonomy.

Please let me know, what am I missing here?

Hey @Talya ,

So by default two things happen with Employee Service Center that is likely happening here

 

Topics hidden when there is no connected content

When there is no connected content present in a topic, it will be hidden from the Mega Menu. Something I do generally when I'm implementing new Employee Centers for our customers is create a quick test catalog item. I then connect this into all the Topics.

This is helpful so the stakeholders can see all the topics rendering in the Mega Menu so they can get a feel for layouts and stuff.

 

Recommended for you widget not configured

This widget has a number of configuration options, so you need to set this up. A quick way is CTRL+Right Click on on the widget itself and click on 'Instance Options' from the menu.

Here you can configure things like what you want to show in the widget, how many items and other config items.

This link here explains how the widget configurations work. I'd imagine its empty because nothing has been configured yet
