In Employee Center, within the Web Applications experience, when a user clicks a web application from the Suggested search results, the link currently opens in the same browser window, replacing Employee Center instead of opening in a new tab.
Business requirement:
- We would like web applications opened from Suggested search in Employee Center to open in a new browser tab so the user can keep Employee Center open while accessing the application.
- The goal is to improve usability and reduce context switching for our end users.
Questions:
- Is there an out‑of‑the‑box configuration or property that controls whether Web Applications opened from Employee Center Suggested search open in the same window vs a new tab?
- If this is not configurable OOB, is there a supported way in UI Builder or component configuration to change the link target to open in a new tab (for example, a setting similar to what exists for other link components/widgets)?
- If customization is required, what is the recommended, supportable approach (e.g., cloning and modifying the component, using a custom UI Builder page, etc.), and are there any known upgrade risks?
