Is it possible to associate an entire Service Catalog within taxonomy?

You can create a taxonomy category that represents the Service Catalog and then associate all the catalog items within that catalog to the taxonomy category.

Here are the steps to associate an entire Service Catalog with a taxonomy:

  1. Navigate to Employee Center Configuration > Taxonomy Categories.
  2. Click "New" to create a new taxonomy category.
  3. Give the new taxonomy category a name and description that represents the Service Catalog you want to associate.
  4. Save the taxonomy category.
  5. Now, you need to associate catalog items with the taxonomy category. Navigate to Service Catalog > Catalog Definitions > Maintain Categories.
  6. Open each catalog item from the desired Service Catalog and add the taxonomy category you created in step 3 to the "Categories" related list.
  7. Repeat step 6 for all catalog items in the Service Catalog you want to associate with the taxonomy.

Hi @abrahams ,

 Associating the catalog categories to a topic would be more flexible option for you to meet your requirement. to do so:

  1. Navigate to All > Content Taxonomy > Topics.
  2. Click the topic that you want to add content from catalog categories to.
  3. Click the Add content from a catalog category related link.
  4. In the Collection list, do one of the following to move the catalog categories to the Catalog Categories list:
    • Select a catalog category and then click the right arrow icon (>) icon.
    • Double-click a catalog category.
    Note: In the Collection list, you can search for catalog categories by entering the category name or by using wild cards (*).
  5. Click OK.
    All the catalog items that belong to the categories that you moved to the Catalog Categories list are associated with the topic. The time taken to associate all the content with a topic depends on the number of catalog items that a category contains.

We were hoping to get a page similar to the page when you enter *** in the search.

@abrahams  Worth noting along with the information provided by others here on creating Topics in your Taxonomy, there is also a 'Browse Catalog' button provided into the Mega Menu by default. 

 

This appears when you point a Catalog to the Employee Center, and effectively lets users Browse the entire Service Catalog as normal
