Hello All,
We do have lot of users who approve their requests via help hub ( part of employee center) portal. All these users have to have approver_user role. As this role is also part of business stakeholder we are crossing threshold for business stakeholder licenses. is there way by which user can approve request waiting for his /her approval in portal without being part of approval_user role.
Thank you

Hi @nareshTT
To approve a request in the ESC portal, the approval_user role is required.
Some community members have suggested in other posts that email-based approvals can be used since they do not require this role.
However, you should confirm this with your ServiceNow Account Executive to ensure there are no license compliance issues.

My thoughts
-> Direct portal approval without approver_user is not recommended due to licensing risks and potential audits
-> you can use email approvals
-> discuss with customer and let them discuss with ServiceNow on the licensing
