Knowledge Articles and Catalog Items Restricted Access

For both knowledge articles and catalog items, can we create a restricted access panel in the article/form details to show who that article/request is available for even if its content is not available for users?

My client wants to let the users know that some forms/articles are restricted if they're not part of a particular group so users know who to contact to access the content.

Hi @quyentu

You will need to create a New User Criteria (user_criteria) record

  1. In the Application navigator, Navigate to the Service Catalog->Catalog Definition->User Criteria
  2. Note : Same for KB

Visit the catalog item. you should see a related list for Available for. Click edit and add the newly created user criteria and submit.

This will allow only users from that group to see the catalog item.

For more details please find the below links:

2. Create a user criteria record

3. Need to hide the Order this Item for a group.

4. Knowledge user criteria - same department as author

5. Hide a Catalog Item for end user

This will definitely helps you to resolved your issue. Let me know in case you need to understand the flow or you can DM on LinkedIn.

If this solution resolves your query, kindly mark it as the accepted solution and give it a thumbs up.

Hi @Krushna R Birla

I want to know if end users can see which groups have access to certain catalogs and knowledge. If a user clicks on an article/catalog, they need to be able to see the restricted empty state that the article is only available for certain group.
