Mega menu takes a long time to reflect changes in the Taxonomy

Hi,

I have observed that if I make changes to my Taxnomy it takes a long time until these changes are reflected in the Mega Menu - it takes hours, but not sure how long actually.

Eg. if I just change the name of a child topic, it will no reflect in the mega menu right away. Clearing the cache on the instance does not make it update either.

Does anybody know what triggers the mega menu to be updated - is it a scheduled job or something?

I have talked with support now, and they suggested that i tested with a private browser tab.

And indeed it works there and any changes are reflected immediatley.

So it is a browser caching issue and not a server side issue.

I have made no changes to the portal it self, other than creating a new Taxonomy in the Global scope.

I have done a test this morning at 7.26 where i changed the name of one topic.

Here at 10.26 - three hours later - the change is still not reflected. I does not seem right?

Hi @larstange,

It should not take that much time, quick question have you made changes in OOB homepages/widgets related to EC /megu menu? I would also suggest checking browsers to inspect performance stats and instance performance logs which might give some more hints on performance issues. Last resort even after dont finding it strange and not in your control then open a HI case.

Have you attempted to clear the cache of your system to see if that helps?

I ran into some loading "issues" when I upgraded our HR Portal to the new EC Pro. While I did not have issues with the mega menu and taxonomy loading for me after adding or changing topics, other areas I did. Once I cleared the cache, then things would load.

Could always give that a try.

Same - I have to clear my browsing data and then the changes are reflected. I would see partial changes such as new topics/sub-topics appearing in some of the widgets like 'Popular topics' or even on the topic pages before I cleared browsing data but I noticed that I had to clear the browsing data in order for the changes to reflect on the mega menu.
