Use 2 employee center portal in the same instance?

Hi all,

Is it possible to activate and use 2 different Employee center portals in the same instance?

I suppose that we have to configure different taxonomy and maybe we will have to customise some widgets (My requests, etc)

Employee Center is designed to be deployed as a unified portal - generally we do not recommend trying to deploy multiple instances of Employee Center (or Employee Center widgets on multiple portals).  If you have a specific scenario that requires this please reach out to your account team who can engage SMEs to assist.

So, we run in a domain seperated instance, and are starting work with employee center.  It seems like that is at least one case where multiple employee service center's would be a requirement.  Since most multi-domain environments are MSP's who need to present branded experiences and sometimes tailored experiences for each domain in the instance that represents a different customer.

 

Do you know if we should anticipate any issues setting up multiple ESC's for our customers.  I understand they would each need to have their own URL and all that, but anything inherent that just won't work in ESC bc of domain seperation?

Hi Sancho, 

adding to the use case described by Brian, there is also the case where as a partner, we would like to use a demo instance to demonstrate different ESC's prototypes to a customer, or showcase what their ESC would look like with their own branding without having to use another demo instance for each client.

I have a similar request from a client. They are currently using service portal and bought licences for HRSD and want to run two portals simultanously. There are some additional circumstances that complicate matter that I would like to discuss. If you have an SME who could help, that woudl be very much appreciated!

Just to weigh in on this, we are currently testing 2 employee center portal and we're seeing issues with widgets where they haven't added in filters separate the content by portal or taxonomy, favourites are displaying for both portals. I probably wouldn't recommend having the 2 portals, as I don't how much of this stuff will get fixed.
