I have created a topic on Employee Center and creating some Catalog Items underneath that topic. All of this will be displayed as a page within the employee center and the user will get to this topic after clicking on a link in the mega menu.
My question is -
1. The catalog items which I am creating - which Application should they be under? "Global" or "Employee Center"?
2. The Update Sets under which I am capturing everything - which Application should they be under? "Global" or "Employee Center"?

Hi @entcenginee ,
You are trying to create "Child Topic" under "Taxonomy" Employee !!
1. Topic will be created under "Employee experience taxonomy" Application Scope .
2. Then you can create Child Topics and those Child Topics can have connected Contents.
3. The above Connected contents could be your catalog item, it can be in global scope or any other scope., so you will need to capature the update sets in diffrent application scopes.
Note: when you are catalog item, you would know automatically what application scope it's in.
Real Example :
1. Let's see how HR is configured on Employee center :
2. HR is a Child Topic for taxonomy :
3.
4. The child topics has connected contents which can have catalog items which is in global scope

Hi @entcenginee
1: Use the Employee Center scope (or a custom app scope) to keep them aligned with the Employee Center functionality. Avoid Global unless they need broad accessibility.
2: Use the Employee Center scope (or a custom app scope) to ensure proper dependency tracking and deployment. Avoid Global to prevent scope mismatches.
By keeping both catalog items and update sets in the Employee Center scope (or a custom scope), you maintain clean organization, simplify deployments, and follow ServiceNow’s best practices.
I hope my answer helps you to resolve your issue, if yes please mark my answer helpful and correct.
thank you
