Hi Experts,
We have developed a custom application in ServiceNow. Within the custom application scope, we created a Catalog Item and mapped it to a Taxonomy Topic. The Catalog Item is displayed correctly when we browse through the Taxonomy Topic.
However, when we search for the Catalog Item by its name in Employee Center/Service Portal, it does not appear in the search results.
We have already verified that:
The Catalog Item is active.
The Taxonomy Topic mapping is correct.
The item is visible in the Taxonomy Topic.
What could be the possible reasons why the Catalog Item is not appearing in search results? Are there any search indexing, AI Search, Search Source, ACL, or configuration settings that should be verified?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi @Sirri
If reindexing as mentioned by @Naveen3 doesn't work, and you've confirmed the catalog item is in an active Catalog and Catalog Category like @AndersBGS said - a few other things I'd verify:
- Go to the catalog items list of records (has to be catalog items and not record producers), add the fields to the list view to verify if it's set to not be searchable, topic showing up... I'd also verify roles here.
- Confirm the Taxonomy and Topic, that the catalog item is mapped to, is the actual one being used by your portal record. Sometimes multiple taxonomies exist and have duplicated topic names across them
- Verify if Advanced Portal Navigation is being used. If so, confirm if it's using this Taxonomy or not
