How have you defined Business Application status values - Under Evaluation, Pilot, etc?

How have you defined the Business Application status values of In Production, Implementing, Pilot, and Under Evaluation in your organization? I haven't found much on these and was curious of how others have defined.

Thanks. Right now we are just using OOB Status field too. We don't plan to add more values to this field. We were wanting to use the OOB values but I haven't found much on them from a definition perspective and was curious of how others are defining them (ex. Implementing, Under Evaluation, Pilot and so forth)

I've tied each one of the status values to a point in our demand-project process e.g. as we develop a business case with a short-list of application options, they would be added to portfolio in an Evaluating status, once the project kicks-off, the status is updated to Implementing, etc. But the reality is that we're not there yet in terms of the project teams making those updates consistently. I'm still having to reach out once a year (I'll be kicking off the 2022 survey in the next few weeks) to make sure everything in the portfolio is at the right status.

You are further along that us. If asked to define each of those Status values separately, how would you define them? Right now it's the only status value we are managing for a business application. As we mature, we will begin to look at other status fields and values. Thanks so much for the quick replies today. I appreciate it.

Sorry, Heather, I don't have a definition documented for each status. But I find them (unlike the Lifecycle states) to be fairly intuitive; Under Evaluation > Pilot > Implementing > In Production > Retired
