Hi all,
I need to configure the Sustainable IT dashboard for a demo. At the moment the dashboard does not display anything.
I installed these plugins and the available demo data: Sustainable IT, ESG Management , Hardware Management, Geo Map component.
I can't find instructions in the Documentation to help with the data sources configuration.
I appreciate any input on that topic.
Thank you in advance!

Hi Victoria,
The dashboard is populated by the metric definitions that are shipped along with the Sustainable IT plugin. The first step is to activate those. You can go to the automated, manual, and calculated metric definitions list view and remove the 'Active=true' filter (since we ship these metric definitions as inactive) and add a filter for "Group=Sustainable IT". After that activate all of those. After that you need to associate the entities (hardware model categories, data centers) to the metric definitions. The names of the metric definitions can guide you. You need to ensure that there is data for the metrics (and then the aggregated data in metric definition).
Let me know if that helps. Also, did you try to get a DemoHub instance?

Hello Vaisakh,
thank you very much for responding🙂
Indeed, I activated the metric definitions grouped under Sustainable IT following the steps described in the documentation, and described by you.
In cmdb_ci_datacenter I created a fictive data center
and connected it to a metric definition I created manually
This being a manual metric definition, I understand that the data should be inputted manually via the task generated when Execute is clicked. I assigned myself such a task and entered a number. Nevertheless, the dashboard is not displaying anything.
As you confirmed, it appears that we are missing the data. From this ServiceNow presentation, I understand that the data sources can be external, data already in ServiceNow and manual. The instance we are using does not seem to have the necessary dat, so manual inputting would be the solution now, is that a correct assumption?
As I last attempt, I also tried entering fictive numbers in cmdb_hardware_product_model , related to the Power consumption, Expected Lifetime CO2e and Energy User
but these hardware assets are not connected to any data center it appears, and I don't know how to connect them to the data center I created.
Do you think that this the correct approach?
I am going to try to get a DemoHub instance and let you know how it goes.
Thank you again for taking the time,
Kind regards,
Victoria.
