How Initial detection DNS name and Configuration item in Vulnerable item is different ?

Hi All,

I have found an issue with the vulnerable item. Some of the VIT record's "Configuration item" field and "DNS name" field under initial detection section is different. For most of the VIT records they have same name in Configuration item field and DNS name field. The issue is only on few records.

The name of the CI in the "DNS name" field match with the vulnerable CI found by QUALYS but in SERVICENOW VIT record it is mapped to different CI mentioned in the "CONFIGURATION ITEM" field.

Please help me understand the issue behind 🙂

Review your CI Look up rules which is finding CI from given information like IP Address, DNS, Mac Address etc.
