Hi @saulnierdav,
It sounds like the issue is mainly related to application scope and source control availability in Studio, which is why you’re not seeing the “Import From Source Control” option.
In ServiceNow, that option only appears when you’re working inside a scoped application in Studio. If the application is in the global scope, the Source Control options (including Import From Source Control) won’t show up. Since you mentioned that Studio only lets you create a global app and throws an error when creating a scoped one, that’s likely the reason you’re stuck.
Normally, the process should be
- Open Studio from System Applications → Studio.
- Create a Custom Application (scoped app).
- Once the scoped app opens in Studio, you should see Source Control in the top menu, where Import From Source Control becomes available.
Another thing worth checking is whether the Source Control Integration for Studio plugin is active. If that plugin isn’t enabled, the Source Control options won’t appear in Studio at all.
If scoped app creation keeps failing in your Zurich PDI, it could also be an instance configuration issue. In that case, refreshing the instance or logging out and back in sometimes resolves it.
So in short, you’re probably not missing the button; it usually doesn’t appear when the app is global or when source control isn’t enabled. Once you’re inside a scoped application with source control enabled, the option to import the NeedIt app from GitHub should show up in Studio.
This is my researched answer; hopefully this will be helpful to you
