Hide playbooks on FSM/CSM Variant when conditions change

I'm looking for options to hide a playbook on a record view variant on CSM/FSM configurable workspace. I'd like to avoid creating a second variant of the record page.  The playbooks tab is inside of page collection "CSM default record pre-Details".

so example when state = on hold you want to hide the playbook tab?

I think the only way is to create second variant since you can't and you should not edit the OOTB record variant
