Can a existing Risk Response Task can be converted to different Risk Response Task?

I have a requirement of converting the existing risk response task (mitigation/transfer/avoidance) to be converted as risk acceptance task if they are unable to perform the proposed risk response type. 

I know we can create another risk response task for the same risk. But the requirement is to convert the existing risk response instead of creating a new risk response task. Is that possible and allowable ?

Firstly, you will need to understand that risk acceptance task is nothing but a one of types of Risk response Task itself.

Now, to covert the existing Risk respose taks of other types to Acceptance tasks, you will have to customize the whole flow, which is not recommended. OOTB it's not available.

If you check flow of risk acceptance task which is different from  other 3 risk response task. Also risk acceptance task have a separate approval workflow which other risk response task do not have.

So converting existing task to risk acceptance will not be good idea instead you can cancel existing task and create new risk acceptance task.
