The example below shows the dependency Map for CI Relationships. In our instance, we have already created CI Class Hierarchy using the CI Class Manager for a Business Service, Application and Database.
What I understood from most of the GRC training is that we need to manually add Entities upstream and downstream of the Java Application Server.
How do we automate adding that same dependency in your Upstream and downstream Entities?
The information we need is already available in the CI Relationships. Would like to prevent duplicate effort between CMDB managers and GRC Team.
When we view the dependency map from the CI, here is what is displayed for CMS App FLX:
For this CI Relationship example, here is where we manually add Upstream Entity to the Java Server:
Thanks,
JB

Hello JB.
Belasis is releasing in the ServiceNow Store early October the IRM/GRC Synchronisator, certified App dedicated to exactly that purpose. This App helps automating the Entities relationships maintenance by leveraging CMDB/CIs relationships, but as well leveraging Company/Departments/Business Units tables/records relationships.
I attach the factsheet for this App for your review.
We are happy already to demo it to you now, but it should be certified and in the Store only early October.
Best Regards
Eric

Hello Eric,
Thank you for the response and factsheet for the Synchronisator app. Congratulations on this initiative, Eric! This will be a great addition for the GRC community to add to their toolbox. I will certainly present to my team and reach out to you if we decide to proceed with a demo.
For now, what other options are available besides adding upstream and downstream entities?
Thanks,
JB

Unfortunately, nothing else than maintaining these relationships manually and duplicate the effort already done in the CMDB..... hence our App 🙂 I know that ServiceNow is looking at it for 2022 and actually maybe buy our App or redevelop it to make it a Core feature in GRC.
It is a major need for large customers.
Regards
Eric

I understand now. Agreed, this will certainly help prevent duplicating efforts for work already done in CMDB.
What is the best way to connect for a demo?
Best Regards,
JB
