Hi All,
So I need to understand how watchlist field works? OOB, can users in the watchlist field able to edit the record? if No, then how it is restricted, is there any OOB script or ACL, which allows users to read records but restrict the write access to record?

In Servicenow , OOB - users in the Watchlist field can view the record but cannot edit the rest of the record fields.
This functionality is governed by table-level Read Access Control Lists (ACLs) and field-level permissions

Hi Tanushree,
Yes thats correct now problem is we have enabled Entity based access. and all the users have same role which satisfies ACLs, where as user is not part of entity as per EBA configuration, now if we add that user, to risk record's watch list, will he be able to edit the risk record?

Hi @Arkesh Kumar ,
Out of the box, being added to the Watch List does not grant a user write or edit access to a record. The Watch List is primarily used to notify users of updates (for example, through email notifications) and to give them visibility into the record if they already have read access. this notify users when record updates via email notifications.
