Hi All,
So I need to understand how watchlist field works? OOB, can users in the watchlist field able to edit the record? if No, then how it is restricted, is there any OOB script or ACL, which allows users to read records but restrict the write access to record?

Hi @Arkesh Kumar ,
If Entity Based Access (EBA) is enabled, then the answer depends on how EBA is enforced in your instance.
Out of the box, adding a user to the Watch List does not bypass ACLs or EBA. If the user is not part of the required entity, adding them to the Watch List alone should not grant edit access to the Risk record.
If the user is still able to edit the record after being added to the Watch List, I'd recommend checking for any custom ACLs, Business Rules, or EBA configurations that explicitly include Watch List users or otherwise override the standard access checks.
So, under standard OOB behavior, Watch List membership does not override Entity Based Access or grant write access.

it all depends on how the ACL is handled on Table level for that field i.e. Table.None READ and WRITE ACL might check if logged in user is part of watch list and then allow Edit
each table will have it's own requirement and based on customer

Hi Ankur,
Yes thats correct now problem is we have enabled Entity based access. and all the users have same role which satisfies ACLs, where as user is not part of entity as per EBA configuration, now if we add that user, to risk record's watch list, will he be able to edit the risk record?
Regards,
Arkesh

we don't know the config in your instance so you the best judge here
what's your findings?
if they are not able to edit then see which ACL is blocking etc

@Ankur Bawiskar we have restored ACLs to OOB. and it is allowing users in watchlist to edit the record. all the watchlist users have same roles and entity based access setup.
