Policy Exception Integration with Vulnerability Response integration

I'm having trouble setting up the Policy Exception Integration with Vulnerability Response integration.

 

I have the Policy & Compliance Management package of plugins and the Vulnerability Response package of plugins installed and updated to the most recent versions.

 

After validating that the existing “Request Exception” UI button on Vulnerability Item was for Exceptions Management and not policy exceptions, I followed the steps in this article: https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/sandiego-governance-risk-compliance/page/product/grc-policy-and-c...

The problem I’m seeing is if I just click Request Exception, an Exception Management exception is created instead of a policy exception. After configuring the UI button as directed in the first article, the correct pop-up appears but upon hitting Submit, the following error message pops up: “The policy exception registration is not complete or not active. Reach out to your admin for assistance.”

 

Has anyone else run into a similar issue?
