Hi All
I need some guidance urgently . When my policy exception record is getting expired ( valid to field expires ) , my policy exception is moving to awaiting approval . I want the policy exception record to move to closed .
I have changed the Policy Exception workflow accordingly ( State -> Closed ) , but still the policy exception moves to awaiting approval everytime . Can someone please guide me why is this happening . Is there another OOb workflow which decides the status of policy exception records .
Also in case valid to is reached and i am setting the next status to closed .. Does it matter whether the policy exception was approved or not ? Also while setting the status to closed , what should i set the substatus to ? curently I am setting it to expired .Does substatus matter while setting the status of policy exception .
Please guide me
Regards
Gary

Hi Gary,
I am unable to replicate this. On my Orlando instance (and from memory, on all other instances) once the Policy Exception valid to date is reached (and it is approved), the Policy Exception will be closed.
Any controls which were set to exempt will be automatically set back to Attest.
I cannot see where or how your PER record would be moving to Awaiting Approval. (Do your approvers status get set to Requested?)
You could check for any custom Business Rules.
Hope this helps.

Hey Phil ,
It is working now . I have updated the policy exception workflow to set the required status of policy exception record ( closed for my case ) when valid to date is reached .
I have one more question . Can i set the status of related issue from policy exception workflow .
So when policy exception valid to date is reached , apart from setting the status of policy exception to closed , i also want to set the status to related issue record to Analyze .
Can i do this from the Policy exception workflow , since this is the only workflow triggered when valid to date is reached .
thanks again for helping me Phil , you are a legend mate
Regards
Gary
