Send to event creator field in notifications

in a notification, send to event creator is checked out. 'when to send' is - 'record inserted or updated'. also assigned to person will get the mail. i am updating the record. but mail is only triggered to assigned person not me. why ?
will this field only work 'when to send' is - 'event is triggered' ?

You are no were in this notifcation, if you wish to recevie notication then in 'who to send' section you have to add to add your self.

Send to event creator > If checked > This will send notfication to the person who caused the event to trigger..

I am person who is updating the record. In that case i am the event creator. so i should get the mail right ?
