Problem tasks are not being closed in a timely manner. To resolve this, directors and managers should be added as recipients to task reminder emails after a certain period of time. Currently we send emails daily to the task owner and problem manager, each reminding the user how many days old the task is.
The current email rotation is one email on the day the task is due, one when it's one day overdue, one when it's two, etc. After the second day it's overdue, we should push the email reminders out further. When the task is one week overdue, we should send the email to the task owner, task owner's manager, and problem manager. After that, we should have an email when the task is two weeks overdue that goes to those three individuals, plus the task owner's director. These last two emails should have "***ACTION REQUIRED***:" preceding the normal subject line.
Also, ALL reminder emails for problem tasks should include the following text after the time the task has been due for.
"Please do one of the following:
(1) choose "Resolved" if the task is ready for closure or
(2) move the due date to a future date that is closer to when you think the task might be completed."
