RITM is not waiting for request approval

Hello everyone,
We are currently facing an issue where the Requested Item (RITM) is not waiting for request approval as intended.
In our scenario, the desired behavior is that upon requesting approval, the RITM's execution should only start after the request has been approved. However, we are encountering a situation where the RITM's execution begins even before the request receives approval.
We have examined the out-of-the-box (OOB) request workflow and have attempted to address the issue by adding a "wait-for" condition in line with our requirements. Despite these efforts, we are still observing that the RITM is not adhering to the expected waiting period for request approval. Instead, it proceeds directly to the execution phase.
We kindly request your assistance in resolving this problem.

Hi, I do not see this behavior in an OOB PDI.
If a Request is raised and the value of the requested item(s) exceeds the value identified in the Service Catalog Request workflow, then the RITM task has a stage of 'Waiting for Approval' which mirrors that of the parent Request.
Have you checked that the Requests workflow 'Approval' activity is not being skipped?
A workflow approval activity will be skipped if you do not have a valid Approver configured in your Approval Group.
