We had a situation where an asset record was added to a disposal order by mistake and was Retired > Disposed.
The asset was not retired and in fact was put into stock and we're trying to re-deploy it. However, now that it went through the disposal process, the state/sub-state is locked and we can't change the status.
Should I just 'delete asset record only' and let CI/Discovery re-create it? Or is there a way to 'reverse' that?

You could try exporting the xml, editing the state and substate and reimporting it.

As this situation occurred due to the asset being included wrongly as part of a disposal order and not just due to a simple change of State/Substate to Retired>Disposed, I would suggest to raise a hi ticket with ServiceNow explaining the scenario. They should ideally suggest a solution with no other impact and might even correct the data from backend if needed.
