Ci without asset value.

In hardware table, I can see a record exits and configuration item is assigned to that hardware ci which is a Linux server and when I open the same ci in cmdb Linux server table, for the same record I can’t see a asset assigned to this ci.

Asset has ci assigned but for the same ci asset is empty.

I have checked the model category’s and found out everything fine. cmdb Linux server is mapped with hardware table.

Can someone help me why this is happening and also there are 196 records like this in cmdb table. All are related to different classes linux, computer, windows etc.

The most important thing for non-sccm (meaning not user devices though it can matter there just as much), but to our situation.  Is the Linux Model number on the CI record having an entry in the Model Category (Asset) for Linux servers?

If the entry doesn't exist to have the model category and model number in that category for the asset, and the Model number is not present on the Linux server CI record, they will never sync.

It could very well be that you forgot to add the Linux model that you have the CI being found for through discovery but it needs a "placeholder" for sure the first model in the category but I found it very critical for syncing ]without having to turn on or off business rules or some onbefore script or enven clicking enfoce ci verification are all just measures , some better or not for controlling what should I believe always be done.  On the CI, ensure you not only enter the Model Name in the name field, also preferably but not necessarily required, asset tag and for sure manufacturer and model number.  Many use a model number but say that it is unnecessary on the ci record but I swear all of my ci's will find their Asset partner (which usually has the first of the two records in the pa) if that some ci model number also has an entry on the model category for that asset class that you want your ci to be synced logically with.

There is an OOB business rule which syncs asset and ci togeather. Its one to one relationship, check if the field you are checking on the CI is right oob field and not any custom field.
