We have two teams. One is responsible for end user delivery/support of hardware and one who owns HAM. The support team distributes, maintains, refreshes and recovers assets from users and HAM (as it pertains to this question) is responsible for getting "scrapped" equipment out of the company. We have our own stockroom and they have their own. Our current process is to create TOs for all equipment we deem is no longer working or sufficient to be used on the floor so the HAM team can physically remove the devices from our stockroom and into theirs. After they have moved the equipment, they create a new disposal request to follow that process. My question is, the TO seems like an unnecessary step with redundant work. What would prevent the support team from just creating the disposal request and having it go through the process from their stockroom?
